Drop Servicing Ideas: Niche Ideas To Get You Started

Struggling with finding a drop servicing idea that you can get behind? Got a few ideas and wonder if they’re going to work?

I’ll admit, this is probably the hardest step to make. Because if you get it wrong, you could’ve lost a whole load of time.

Get it right however and you could be hitting the jackpot.

So how do you choose a niche that at least increases the likelihood of you succeeding in your drop service business?

Well, if you haven’t already, I’d recommend you go and check out the Finding Your Niche’ post I wrote on this topic. I’ve not only gone through the different approaches you can take when looking for a niche but I’ve also given some ‘non-verified’ ideas too.

While the ideas I gave in that article might not be the best ideas (I have no idea as I didn’t do the research – I just used them as examples), they should provide you with enough information to at least spark a few ideas of your own.

And that’s what my objective is really…

To spark the inspiration in you so you can start finding niches you’re not only happy with but excited to take action on.

The Best Drop Servicing Niches?

Remember, 'Best' Is Subjective...

The ‘best’ niche is the niche you can provide the most value too. No matter what niche you go into, the best drop servicing niches will be the ones that you can provide immediate value to your customers or clients.

If you choose to work with business clients for example; the best niche is the one that can either increase sales or decrease uneccessary costs- fast.  The worst on the other hand would be a niche that doesn’t ‘push the needle’ in the right direction.

Let’s be honest, whatever online business model you choose there’s almost always some sort of guide that gives you the ‘best niches’ or the ‘best ideas for [ENTER BUSINESS MODEL] [ENTER YEAR]’ – the truth is, while a lot of these ideas could be great businesses in the future – that’s all they are, ‘could be’s’.

Without putting in the effort to research your niche, your audience, how you will market to them and how you decide to differentiate yourself, they are just that – ideas.

And, for the most part, most people who take these ideas and build a successful businesses do so not by following the idea exactly how someone else wrote it down for them, but by putting their own twist on it.

They might change the pricing, they might build a stronger brand, they might take two ideas and put them together (a very good strategy by the way).

The point I’m trying to get across is this: Take these ideas, study and research drop servicing and business in general and come up with your very own idea built on the back of someone else idea.

And I’ll tell you now – there is nothing wrong at all with that sort of strategy.

So, with that said I’m going to list a few ideas below to help you get started. Now, remember a lot of these ideas I haven’t ‘verified’ yet. So in their organic form below they may or may not be good ideas, but what they do is open your mind to the possibilities and avenues you can take with your drop servicing business.

I’ll also try to mix the types of services up. When many people get into drop servicing they usually think about copywriting, article writing, web design or some sort of digital marketing skill.

The truth is there are tonnes of other markets out there to explore…

…both B2B and B2C

Best Drop Servicing Niches

Mixing and Mastering for Musicians

Mixing and Mastering music is basically the art and skill of making your music sound better and louder without messing the whole track up.

Most musicians have no interest in mastering their tracks. They want to spend their energy and time creating their music – not on the technical side of mastering a track.

Mixing and Mastering music is basically the art and skill of making your music sound better and louder without messing the whole track up.

Most musicians have no interest in mastering their tracks. They want to spend their energy and time creating their music – not on the technical side of mastering a track.

It’s also a similar thing for the mix down. Most seasoned producers learn and know how to mix down their tracks. But what about the guitarist who sings? Again, unless he understands the technical side of mixing there’s a very good chance he’ll get someone else to do it.

And this is where you jump in. By offering a mixing and mastering service to musicians.

Now on quick inspection of this, there are freelancers and even tools that can do some of this work. But, if you can find a way to get clients in a more unconventional way (think facebook groups, instagram DM’s) you could literally own a piece of this market.

All you’ll have to do then is find a freelancer that can deliver the work (think Fiverr) and you’ve got yourself a drop servicing business.

Additional Ideas: This doesn’t have to just be aimed at musicians either. Wedding videos might need editing or podcasts need touching up. Anything where sound is ivolved – you could find your next niche.

Book Narration

Book Narration

Amazon Kindle has reopened the world to books and reading. Many of these books are then either listed on Audible or other audio book sites.

You could provide some sort of book narration services to authors who would rather outsource this to someone else.

Now, these can be broken down further. The types of narration for a children’s books would differ from the type of narration needed for a horror story for example.

So, you could niche yourself down to only focus on one type of genre.

The trick here is to find a really good book narrator and build the relationship from there. Again, as with most ideas, getting creative with how you find your clients is a must.

Linked In

LinkedIn Resume and Profile Writer

There’s a shift happening in social media at the moment. Between new social media networks on the market and life cycles of old networks slowing down, the behaviour of people on social networking sites is changing.

You can use this to your advantage. One of these is the social media platform for professionals – LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is unique in many ways. The main one being that people are looking for jobs, projects and to connect with other professionals in their industry.

To do this, you’re going to need a professional profile written with some content regularly added to keep your profile fresh.

You could step in here and offer a resume and profile writing service. Then of course, outsource the work to Fiverr.

Amazon Product Descriptions & Listings

You’re going to need to find someone with some pretty good copywriting skills for this one.

But, what you could do is search through the millions of products listed on amazon.com, find those with poorly written descriptions and then get in contact with each business offering your services.

Product Photography

Again, while you might think this niche is saturated – if you can find a unique way of finding clients you can really clean up here.

This service does what is says on the tin.

You find businesses who have poorly taken pictures of products and improve them. A great way into this market might be by contacting dropshippers as a lot of the time they will be using whatever images Alibaba/ Aliexpress gave them which can almost always be improved.

Transcription Service

Transcriptions are great.

It can not only help diversify the type of content someone offers but they can also be great for SEO purposes too.

Say for example, someone creates a whole bunch of videos for their website but doesn’t want to spend even more time creating content to go with those videos – you can come in and transcribe their videos.

Now, most transcription services offer just that – a lump of text transcribed from the video. By learning a few SEO best practices, you could offer a service that gets website owners the content they are looking for but presented in a way that looks like a brand new peice of amazing content – complete with headings, subheadings and maybe even the odd graphic too to explain more complex ideas.

This is a decent idea – all you gotta do is find the buyers and explain your service in a way that resonates with them so they buy.

Book Trailers

Book trailers are a great way to build anticipation about an upcoming book and work especially well for seasoned authors – those that already have some success and money.

By using Fiverr, you can provide a book trailer service to provide your authors with high quality videos that get their audience excited for the release of their new book.

Now, again as with most ideas, the level of success you see will largely depend on how you differentiate yourself.

For book trailers, I would highly recommend you study the art of copywriting – you’ll then be able to supply your authors with very powerful book trailers that can sell a LOT of books.

Social media Management for [ENTER AUDIENCE] in [ENTER LOCATION]

You can really enter in any type of business and location here. Just make sure they have money, already know the power of social media marketing (or are at least open enough to understand) and that the market is big enough for you to enter.

There are literally thousands of ideas within this one umbrella niche to keep you going for the next decade.

Think is terms of;

  • Lawyers
  • Hotels
  • Dentists
  • Restaurants
  • Lawcare

…etc… and then add on a specific location such as:

  • London
  • New York
  • Perth
  • California

…you get the idea.

Drop Servicing Ideas: Now Onto You…

These are literally a few drop servicing ideas off the top of my head that I’ve either explored the idea of myself or have at least questioned the viability of.

Again, your success will largely depend on how you reach these customers, how you present your offer and how you differentiate from the competition.

They’re only ideas, but ideas I hope can spark a few more inspirational moments to help you on your drop servicing journey.

This is also an open post, where I will regularly keep adding to it. Got any more ideas you don’t mind sharing?
